"So wie es ist, bleibt es nicht" (Bertol Brecht) // "The way it is, is not how it remains"
"The joy is what matters"
I met Jean-Baptiste on a cycling path in Amsterdam while cycling in the opposite direction of the traffic and him asking me with a smile if I was just looking for kicks or actually being suicidal. Jean Baptiste was a life and relationship coach with an accute sense of lucidity and open-mindness when we talked about relationships. In a way, meeting him on a cycling path was probably the best way to describe what Jean Baptiste did with his life - which was basically stopping people from rushing too fast into it and helping people find a sense of direction.
Marlene, his girlfriend, I had the pleasure to meet the next day - and though we met but for a few hours - JB and Marlene gave out an image of balance in a couple that you would probably envy. Meeting people like this is always what had made Amsterdam a beautiful city.
